Question

At noon, when sun is overhead, as the distance is too small why sky isn't blue as the atmosphere has a tendency to scatter small wavelength?

Solution

Long wavelength means it can travel more distance without scattering. As blue is medium wavelength one comparing to red, it will scatter totally after passing a certain limit. But the fact that blue will start scatter with in the distance (distance btw sun amd eart at noon) ,but not totally... for total scattering more distance travel required.. so some blue remain unscattered. It is appeared as blue . But the scattered cause a bit whitish. So in total it apperas bluish white in colour
