At sunrise the outside tempearure was $3 °$ below zero $= 0 ° - 3 ° = - 3 °$
By lunchtime temperature rose by $15 °$ $= - 3 ° + 15 ° = 12 °$
Now, according to the question:
The outside temperature at night $=$ the temperature at the end of the day
Since, any day ends during the night time $=$ the outside temperature at the sunrise $- 5 °$
$= 12 ° - 5 ° = 7 °$
Hence, the temperature at the end of the day is $7 °$ .
