Solution
Melting - The process in which a solid on heating changes into liquid is called melting or fusion.
At the melting point, the temperature remains constant.
The temperature of a substance remains constant at its melting point until all of the substance melts because the heat supplied is continuously used up in changing the state of the substance by overcoming the forces of attraction between the particles.
It is a physical change as no new substance is formed and the process can be easily reversed by changing the temperature.
Example - When ice is kept at room temperature or heated, it changes into water.
Thus, at the melting point, the temperature remains constant.
