At the present time,using sailing ships for commercial transport is in decline.Why?

a. Shipping industry for years have been used for commercial purposes, in fact maritime trade has always connected countries and regions from time immemorial.
b. Though there has not been such a sharp decline, in the use of ship for commercial purposes as they are still used as one of the important means of transportation,
c. Decline can be attributed to overcapacity and low freight rates , as also to the turmoil in certain areas.
d. Volatile conditions in certain region may impact sea trade.
e. Further growing threats of the piracy off the coast , also threatens the shipping industry.
f. Also because of the time involved in transporting goods through sailing ships acts as a deterrent
