$\therefore w^{\prime }={mg}^{\prime }=\frac{1}{4}mg$

and $w=mg$

$\therefore w-w^{\prime }=mg-\frac{1}{4}mg$

$=\frac{3}{4}mg$

Thus percentage change in the weight is

$=\frac{3}{4}\times 100=75$%
