From ideal gas equation,
PV=nRT
n= No. of moles =wt. (w)Mol. wt. (M)
PV=(wM)RT
PM=(wV)RT
As we know that,
Density(d)=wt.(w)volume(V)
PM=dRT
For the same gas,
dPT
d1d2=P1P2×T2T1
Given:-
P1=700 mm Hg
P2=760 mm Hg
T1=0=273K
T2=30=(30+273)=303K
d1d2=700760×303273
d1d2=1.021
Hence the rtio of density of the air at the top to that at the bottom is 1.021.
