For obtaining the point at which the graph cuts the x axis, put y=0.(y coordinate is 0 for points at x axis)

For obtaining the point at which the graph cuts the y axis, put x=0.(x coordinate is 0 for points at y axis)

So x+y=5 cuts the x axis at (5,0) and cuts the y axis at (0,5)
