Solution

Principal (P) = Rs. 640
Amount (A) = Rs. 774.40
Rate (R) =10% p.a
Period (n) = 2 years
Let R be the rate of interest p.a.
AP=(1+R100)n
774.40640=(1+R100)2
77440100×640=(1+R100)2
121100=(1+R100)2 (Dividing by 640)
(1110)2=(1+R100)2
Comparing, we get
1+R100=1110=1+110
R100=110R=10010=10
Rate =10% p.a
