Mold:

  1. Mold is a fungus that is mostly found in moist and damp places.
  2. Example: Rhizopus stolonifera, Stachybotrys chartarum.
  3. They reproduce by forming spores. These spores are present in the air; when they land on moist surfaces they start to grow.
  4. Mold spores can cause respiratory problems, itchy or red eyes, skin infections, headaches, etc.
  5. Mold spores generally die at 60-71°C. However, some of them are resistant to heat.
