The root mean square velocity u=3RTM
uoum=To×MmTm×Mo

The subscripts o and m refers to oxygen and methane respectively.

But uo=um

Hence, uoum=1

Tm=27 oC=(273+27) K

1=To×16(273+27)×32

Square both sides of the equation

1=To×16300×32

To=600 K
