Solution

Density of sea water (r) is 1.03 X 10^3 kg/m3 and the atmospheric pressure is 1.01 x 10^5 N/m2.

h=100m

P(fluid)= r g h
= (1.03 x10^3 kg/m3)×(9.8 m/s2)×(100m)
= 10.094 x 10^5 N/m2

Ptotal = P(atmosphere)+ P(fluid)
= (1.013 x 10^5) +
(10. 094 x 10^5 ) Pa
= 11.107 x 10^5 Pa
=11.1 × 10^5 Pa
