Atom combines with another atom to form a molecule, and complete its valence shell and hence, gain stability. Therefore, atoms are less stable than their molecules.

For example, chlorine is unstable as Cl atom but is more stable as Cl2 molecule not all-atom exist as molecule i.e. not all-atom combine with itself.

Only O2,N2,H2,Cl2,F2,Br2,I2 exist as diatomic molecule.Few others exist in elemental form like S8,P4 etc, depending upon properties of the atom.

Therefore the correct answer is a molecule.
