Although the L shell has a capacity of 18 electrons, why does having eight electrons make the atom stable ? Why do atoms need to have ONLY EIGHT electrons on their valence shell in order to be stable?
‘’Atoms combine to have _ electrons in their valence shells'' is called the octet rule.
Octet rule states that elements tend to combine in such a way that each atom has eight electrons in its valence shell. Why only 8 electrons?
