Solution

The correct option is A True

ATP:

Adenosine triphosphate is used for energy consumption, maintenance of body temperature, and as well as in active transportation.

NADPH:

Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide Phosphate Hydrogen is used for cellular detoxification and as well as cell growth and development.

Dark reaction:

It is a reaction in which the formation of sugar molecules takes place with the help of water and carbon dioxide molecules and photolysis does not take place because it is a light-independent reaction.

Light reaction:

  1. It is a light-dependent reaction and occurs in the grana in the thylakoid membrane in which the formation of ATP and NADPH takes place along with other substances.
  2. In light reactions, light energy is utilized to break up the water molecules called photolysis of water and hence photolysis of water takes place during light reaction in photosynthesis
  3. ATP and NADPH molecules formed during light reactions are utilized in dark reactions to convert Co2 into carbohydrates.

The given statement is True.
