Plastic takes several years to decompose.
It is not environment friendly. It pollutes the substance it is dumped in. In the process it causes both water and soil pollution.
Besides, the burning process in the synthetic material is quite slow and it does not get completely burnt.
In the process it releases lots of poisonous fumes into the atmosphere causing air pollution.
No safe practice for dumping plastic has been found till date.

Therefore, avoid the use of plastic as far as possible.
