Check whether the given fraction are equivalent:

$\frac{3}{10},\frac{12}{50}$

Equivalent fractions are fractions which represent the same part of the whole.
To find an equivalent fraction of a given fraction, we may multiply or divide both the numerator and the denominator of the given fraction by the same number.

The given fractions are $\frac{3}{10},\frac{12}{50}$.

A fraction is said to be in the simplest (or lowest) form if its numerator and denominator have no common factor except 1.

$\frac{3}{10}$ is in its simplest form.

Simplest form of $\frac{12}{50}=\frac{12÷2}{50÷2}=\frac{6}{25}\ne \frac{3}{10}$

Therefore, $\frac{3}{10},\frac{12}{50}$ are not equivalent.

($\because$ If two fractions are not equal in their simplest from then they are not equivalent)
