B & D Ltd. consists of a huge management team, responsible for the success (or failure) of the organisation. Mr. Amar and Mr. Anthony are in jobs that are complex and stressful. They develop long-term objectives, frame policies, make key appointments and review the work of heads working at different levels. Ms. Alfreda, Ms. Lubna and Mr. Bruce form a link between the two levels of management. They formulate short-term departmental objectives in accordance with organisational objectives. They are responsible for implementation of plans and policies developed by Mr. Amar and Mr. Anthony. They communicate orders and decisions downwards and carry suggestions or problems upwards. Ms. Malaika, Mr. Mohan, Mr. Bedi, Mr. Shah, Ms. Zora are in direct contact with the workforce consisting of workers and employees. They enjoy limited authority and responsibility and maintain discipline in the company. They pass any instructions, procedures or rules set by Ms. Alfreda, Ms. Lubna and Mr. Bruce to various employees or workers and in turn also channelise the workers/employees suggestions or grievances to the former.

(iv) (a) Role of top management : (1) They control activities of all departments in the

(b) Role of lower management : (1) They motivate the workers and ensure discipline. (2) They identify and arrange necessary raw materials, machines, tools, etc. for completion of task.
