Total number of students = 1800

Number of students who opted basketball = 750

Number of students who opted cricket = 800

Ratio of number of students who opted cricket to the students who opted basketball

= $\frac{N u m b e r o f s t u d e n t s w h o o p t e d c r i c k e t}{N u m b e r o f s t u d e n t s w h o o p t e d b a s k e t}$

= $\frac{800}{750}$ = $\frac{16}{15}$ = $16 : 15$ [Dividing numerator and denominator by HCF of 800 and 750 i.e. 50]
