* There was a high birth rate and death rate during British rule, which made the population growth rate stagnant,
* During the British rule the infant mortality rate was high and life expectancy rate was low.
* The literacy rate was too low during British rule which lead to low standard of living.
* During British rule, society suffered from gender bias. Indian society was said to be male dominant.
* Due to lack of health awareness and health care facility, there was a low survival rate during British rule.
