  • Yeast is a tiny, unicellular ,non-green plant (which is a fungus).
  • The process of reproduction in yeast is budding
  • During budding, a bud first appears on the cell wall of the yeast cell.
  • The nucleus then divides and one part moves into the bud.
  • The bud then grows and matures and ultimately detaches from the parent cell to form a new yeast cell.
  • Mostly, the buds form a chain as the process of budding happens rapidly.
