Given:
Mass of ball A (m1) = 5 kg
Mass of ball B (m2) = 2 kg
Initial velocity of ball A (u1) = 6 ms1
Initial velocity of ball B (u2) = 2 ms1
Final velocity of ball A (v1) = 2 ms1
According to the law of conservation of momentum,
Initial momentum of the system = Final momentum of the system
m1u1+m2u2=m1v1+m2v2
5×6+2×2=5×2+2×v2
v2=12 ms1
