Based on the frequency of occurrence, we have following four types:
1. Endemic: regularly found among particular people or in a certain area.
2. Epidemic: a widespread occurrence of an infectious disease in a community at a particular time.
3. Pandemic: prevalent over a whole country or the world.
4. Sporadic: occurring at irregular intervals or only in a few places i.e.scattered or isolated.
