Explain three regions with examples
Answer:
On the basis of density of population, the world can be divided into three regions
Distribution of population based on the density of population, the world is divided into three regions.
Areas of high density
Areas of medium density
Areas of low density
High population density areas
Areas of High Density have favourable climate, soil, water and transport facilities. The regions are well-developed.
Examples: Eastern Asia (Japan, China, Korea, Taiwan), south and southeast Asia ( India, Indonesia, Bangladesh, Pakistan), western and central Europe (Germany, France and the United Kingdom), and east and central North America.
Medium population density areas
Areas of Medium Density are between the areas of high and low population density.
Examples: Central part of the United States of America, South Africa, central China, north and western Africa and southeast Australia.
Areas of Low Density are where climatic conditions are not favourable to live or survive.
Example: Deserts-sahara desert, steep mountain ranges-the himalayas, polar regions-Antarctica , thick forest areas like Amazon forest.
These areas experience extreme climate and have unsuitable terrain.
