  3. All these organs work together to produce sperms, the male gamete, male sex hormones and other components of semen.

b) Testis:

  1. A pair of oval-shaped organs are present in a pouch called the scrotum.
  2. It hangs below the abdomen.
  3. Testis secretes a hormone called testosterone.
  4. They are responsible for the production of sperms.
  5. Sperms are produced in the seminiferous tubules of the testis.
  6. The functions of the male hormone, testosterone, are:
  • It stimulates the production of the sperms.
  • It stimulates the development of the secondary sexual characteristics of males such as body hair, development of muscles, hoarse voice, etc.
  • Plays an important role in the development, maturation, and functioning of accessory sex organs like vas deferens and seminal vesicles.

  • The function of the label B (Seminal vesicle):
  1. A seminal vesicle secretes a fluid called semen.
  2. Semen helps in the transportation of sperm by providing lubrication
  • The function of the label C (Urethra):
