2. The cultivation of crops depends primarily on the climate and soil conditions.
3. There are three types of crops depending upon the season in which they grow- Kharif crops, Rabi crops and Zaid crops.

Kharif Crop-

1. These crops are grown in the monsoon season.
2. Maize, soybean, millet are the examples of kharif crops.

Rabi Crop-

1. These crops are grown in the winter season.
2. Wheat, gram, mustard and pea are the examples of Rabi crops.

Reasons for the nourishment of soil by Nitrogen-

1. Pea and soybean are leguminous plant.
2. They have root nodules in which bacteria Rhizobium is present.
3. These Rhizobium bacteria fixes the atmospheric nitrogen into the soil.
4. They convert atmospheric nitrogen into ammonia which the plant is able to absorb.
5. Therefore, we can say that pea and soybean crop replenishes the soil with nitrogen.
