Solution

Benzene:

  1. At room temperature, benzene is a liquid substance that is colorless or light yellow.
  2. In the chemical and pharmaceutical sectors, it is largely utilized as a solvent.
  3. It is also used to make gasoline and as a starting material and intermediate in the synthesis of many other compounds.

Reaction with CH3CH2CH2Cl:

  1. At room temperature, benzene is alkylated using the Fredel-Craft reaction with Chloropropane as the chloroalkane and Aluminium chloride as the catalyst.

C6H6+CH3CH2CH2ClAlCl3C6H5-CH2-CH2-CH3+HCl
