Open in App
Solution

Neutralization reaction:

  1. In a neutralization reaction, an acid is added to a base forming salt and water as product.
  2. Salts are ionic compounds consisting of an anion from an acid and cation from a base.

Acid+BaseSalt+Water

HCl(aq)+NaOH(aq)NaCl(aq)+H2O(l)(Hydrochloricacid)(Sodiumhydroxide)(Sodiumchloride)(Water)

Therefore, besides salt, the other product formed in a neutralization reaction is Water (H2O).
