Solution

The correct option is C Twin >Sibling >Parent >Unrelated donor
  • Human leucocyte antigen (HLA) is a gene complex encoding the major histocompatibility complex (MHC) proteins in humans. These cell-surface proteins are responsible for the regulation of the immune system in humans. During organ transplantation, the HLA is the major cause of transplant rejection as the body recognizes the organ from the donor as non-self and produce antibodies.
  • HLA is same in identical twins. Hence, twins are the first preference for transplantation, followed by siblings with relative similarities, followed by a parent with some similarities. If the donor from the family members is not available, then least preference is given for unrelated donor.
So, the correct answer is 'Twin>Sibling>Parent>Unrelated donor'.
