Let the dimensions of the rectangular garden be xm×ym
Then xy=200 since area is given as 200sq.m
y=200x
The three sides of the rectangular garden is fenced with 50 barbed wire 2x+y=50
2x+y=50
2x+200x=50
2x250x+200=0
x225x+100=0
x220x5x+100=0
x(x20)5(x20)=0
(x20)(x5)=0
x=20or5
When x=20m,y=20020=10m
When x=5m,y=2005=40m
Thus, the garden is of dimensions 20m×10m or 40m×5m
