Biogas is a gaseous mixture produced as a result of anaerobic decomposition of different types of biodegradable waste using methanogenic bacteria in a bioreactor tank. Biogas contains about 60% methane, 40% CO2 along with traces of nitrogen and hydrogen sulphide. It is one source of energy that does not require fossil fuel for production.

Manure is formed by decomposition of biodegradable wastes. It is made up of natural residues and is introduced in the agricultural land as fertilizers.

Therefore, both manure and biogas are produced from biodegradable wastes.
