Solution

The correct option is C Transformation of plant cells
Transformation
The process by which an exogenous DNA is transferred into a host cell like bacteria, yeast, or plant is called transformation.

Gene transfer process
Gene transfer is the process of introducing a foreign gene or recombinant DNA into the host cell. There are various gene transfer processes depending on the host. For example, heat shock method, biolistics, microinjection, etc.

Biolistics method
In biolistics or gene gun methods, gold particles or tungsten are coated with nucleic acids such as DNA and bombarded into cells at very high speed.

It is the most widely used method to deliver foreign DNA in plant cells because of the presence of an additional membrane and cell wall in plants.

Disarmed pathogen vectors
The disarmed pathogen is the method used for transferring the recombinant DNA into the host cells, like animal cells. It is created by replacing the gene responsible for the pathogenic effect with the alien gene.
For example, Disarmed retroviral vectors are used for transferring genes in animal cells.

DNA fingerprinting
DNA fingerprinting is a method to identify and analyze the variations in organisms at the level of DNA.

Construction of rDNA
Recombinant DNA is constructed by adding a foreign gene to the vector DNA. Restriction enzymes and DNA ligases are used for this purpose.

Final answer
(A) Transformation of plant cells
