Birds are warm-blooded animals and are more active. Some of them often
fly continuously for hours. So their energy requirement is more. On the
other hand, lizards are cold-blooded, sluggish animals and often go for
hibernation. So their energy demand is relatively less. Energy is
produced by the oxidation of food materials. So, to fulfill the higher
energy demand, birds should feed more often than lizards.
