Haemoglobin is a protein pigment and major part of body's iron is present in haemoglobin.
Haemoglobin transports oxygen from lungs to rest of the organs and cells, it also carries carbon dioxide back to lungs.
Each unit of haemoglobin can carry 4 molecules of O2.
