The cockroach has an open vascular system consisting of sinuses with blood. The blood of cockroach is without haemoglobin and is colourless. This type of blood is known as haemolymph. It has two types of corpuscles. Proleucocytes which are small with large nucleus and phagocytes which engulf microbes. A reducing sugar called trachea loses is also present along with organic salts dissolved in this plasma.
