Solution

Anti allergic drugs are antihistamines. However, antacids are not antihistamines. Hence, they cannot be use in place of each other.
Anti allergic drugs or antihistamines are used in case of allergy as the allergy reactions are due to liberation of histamine in the body. Antacids are used to remove acidity in stomach. The excess acid can be neutralized by using antacids such as sodium bicarbonate, magnesium and aluminium hydroxide.
