Two slides which are directed in the two opposite directions are combined with the vertical stairs in the midway between the two sliders. The lengths of both the slides are same.

Two kids Mia and Anu reached down after sliding. How much distance Mia has to walk from A to reach Anu who is at B, if AC=5 m and width of the stairs =1 m?

If you consider ΔACE and ΔBDF,

Given that, distances kids slide on both the sliders are same.

AE=FB

EC=FD [height of the stairs]

ACE=FDB=90 [Since, the stairs are vertical]

ΔACE and ΔBDF are congruent using RHS congruency criterion

AC=DB=5 m

The distance Mia has to walk reach Anu =AC+CD+DB=5+1+5=11 m
