As H has 0(zero) O.S. in H2, same in Br it has also 0 (zero ) O.S..
Now as in HBr , H has +1 O.S. whereas in Br, it has -1 , O.S.
As 0 to +1 change is oxidation and 0 to -1 is reduction.
so in this both oxidation and reduction taking place.
