both sodium chloride and potassium nitrate has ph 7. then why we use only sodium chloride as commont salt? why not potassium nitarte?

Salinity of sea water and extra cellular fluid of multicellular organisms is due to the Sodium chloride. Availability of NaCl is also more compare to KNO​3. That is why NaCl is used as a common salt.
