Dear student,
The configuration of element having 38 atomic no. is 2 , 8 , 18 , 8 , 2
The 3rd shell can accommodate 18 electrons in the three subshells i.e. s , p , and d. This will start with the atomic number 29 element i.e. Cu.
At this point a shell can acquire maximum of 18 electrons.
