<!--br {mso-data-placement:same-cell;}--> Pteridophyta belong to sub-kingdom cryptogams. Hence, they lack a well developed reproductive organs. They reproduce asexually by producing spores and sexually by zygote formation. Spores in them are produced on posterior surface of leaves. Such leaves are called as sporophyll and the structures in which spores are formed is called sporangium.
