Millets are short duration warm weather grasses grown in those inferior areas where main food crops like rice and wheat cannot be successfully grown.Jowar,Bajra ,ragi,korra, kodan, kutki etc are some of the important millets grown in India.They are very useful as they provide food for the poor people and fodder for the cattle.The require different weather conditions like:
Jowar grows well in areas having mean monthly temperature of 26 -33 degree .It requires more than 30 cm rainfall during the growing period.
Bajra grows dry and warm climate where there is 40-50 cm of annual rainfall.
