Dear Student,
It is true that India owes to Gandhi for all its achievements over past decades and the fact that it has become "the largest democracy of the world." This can be supported by the following reasons and contributions of Gandhi to India and the world:
1. Gandhi taught the values of peace and non- violence to India as well as the whole world.
2. Gandhi ji taught the Indian people to fight fort their legal rights and for their independence by introducing the non- cooperation movement, civil disobedience movement, satyagraha, etc.
3. Gandhi fought along with the Indian people for a single nation with no oppression on the part of the British or any other foreign power.
4. Gandhi taught the Indian people to be self- reliant and not to depend on foreign goods and services.
5. Gandhi contributed to the evolvement of India as a single and independent nation by using non - violent methods and without harming anyone.
