why does increase in heat increases kinetic energy ?

heat is a form of energy. Heating provides energy to the molecules of substance being heated. The molecules start moving or vibrating at a faster rate and thus their kinetic energy increases. Heat energy provided to the molecules of the substance is converted into kinetic energy.
