Bricks measuring $40 c m \times 5 c m \times 7 c m$ are to be painted. If there are $60$ bricks, find the total area to b painted.

Dimensions of the bricks $= l \times b \times h = 40 c m \times 5 c m \times 7 c m$
Surface Area of $1$ brick $= 2 (l b + b h + l h)$
$= 2 (40 \times 5 + 5 \times 7 + 40 \times 7)$
$= 2 (200 + 35 + 280) = 1, 030 s q . c m$
Surface Area of $60$ brick $= 60 \times 1030 = 61, 800 ‬ s q . c m$
Thus, $61, 800 ‬ s q . c m$ of the area has to be painted.
