King of Cholas was very fond of the sculpture. Under their leadership, the art of sculpture developed significantly.
The Chola kings took great interest in temple building. They wholeheartedly donated money and land for the building and maintenance of the temple. The royal temples built by the Chola kings were very magnificent. Therefore, it can be said that the Chola government made a great contribution to the construction of the temple. Temple was a centre of learning.
Raj Raja, I built the Raj Rajeshwar temple in Tanjore. Made in Dravidian style. Rajendra Chola built a city called GangaKonda Cholapuram and made it his capital. Chola Arts have produced many life-size bronze sculptures. Tanjore's statue of Nataraja is a prime example.
