Structure of cerebrum

  1. Cerebrum is the largest and most complex part of the brain. It is also called the forebrain.
  2. It consists of the area with ridges and grooves which increase the surface area to accommodate more nerve cells.

Functions of cerebrum

  1. It is the thinking part of the brain.
  2. It controls all the voluntary actions.
  3. It stores information.
  4. It receives sensory impulses from various parts of the body and integrate it.
  5. It contains the information that essentially makes our intelligence, memory, reasoning, personality, emotion, speech and ability to feel and move.
