Briefly explain how droughts can affect us.

• Drought is a period of time when an area or region experiences rainfall below normal level.
• When there is little to no rainfall in an area over a long period of time, the soil loses its moisture content.
• This eventually leads to the soil becoming barren and unfit for agriculture which leads to poor yield of crops and hence, results in food scarcity.
