Guttation is seen as water in form of droplets along the margins or tips of Leaves through specialized cells called hydathodes. It is seen in herbaceous plants when the transpiration is low and soil moisture is high during high humidity conditions.
In the plants in which transpiration is low and the root pressure is high, the droplets of sap water are seen at the vein endings. This is called Guttation.
It is frequently seen occurring in herbaceous plants that grow under conditions of high soil moisture and high atmospheric humidity, during the night.
It is quite common during dim light and high humidity in young grass seedlings and in tropical rain forests.
