Solution: Some of the Key Features of Indian Constitution are listed below:
  1. Federal System- Indian Constitution is that it is a federation with a strong centralizing tendency. The constitution of India is neither federal nor unitary but is a mix of both.
  2. Parliamentary Form of Government - Every citizen of the country, irrespective of his/her social background, can contest in elections. Separation of Powers - Each of these 3 organs (Executive, Legislature and Judiciary) have different powers as per the Constitution of India, this is done to ensure that there is no misuse of power and balance of power is maintained.
  3. Integrated And Independent Judiciary - The Constitution makers ensured that the Judiciary had to be independent and hence unbiased.
  4. Universal Adult Franchise - The concept of Universal Adult Franchise allows every citizen of India who is above eighteen years the right to vote in democratic elections.
  5. Fundamental Rights - The Indian Constitution guarantees 6 Fundamental Rights:
  • Right to Equality
  • Right to Freedom
  • Right against Exploitation
  • Right to Freedom of Religion
  • Cultural and Educational Rights
  • Right to Constitutional Remedies
