Synapse:

  1. The microscopic gap is present between the terminal end of the axon of one neuron and the dendrite or axon or cell body of another neuron, through which nerve impulses are transmitted by neurotransmitters or electrical ions from the pre neuron to post neuron is called the synapse.
  2. Synapse transmits the information between neurons or neurons and their target cell.
  3. There are three types of synapse- Chemical synapse, electrical synapse and conjoint synapse.
